This annual tournament takes place on a Saturday in late March. Each year, a different rapper team will host the tounament, usually in their home town or city, supported by the SDU. Many teams from around the country will be there to either compete or display.

A tournament will typically consist of a ‘tour’ by the invited teams around a number of dance spots in the host town or city. These spots are usually outdoors where they can be seen by passing members of the public, so will typically take place in town squares, shopping malls, outside or inside pubs, or anywhere where there may be a good audience. This tour will take place from mid morning to mid afternoon, with a break for lunch.

The tournament itself will then take place from mid to late afternoon in a single venue big enough to accomodate all the teams, such as town hall, community centre, etc. Awards will be presented in a number of categories, such as traditional/own dance, music, etc.

Though the tournament will now be officially over, usually some of the teams will move on to another venue or a series of pubs to keep the festivities going into the late evening.
